The Return of Other Worlds Than These
Back in 2020, I launched Other Worlds Than These (OWTT) with the goal of unifying all my creative endeavors—music, storytelling, game development, and beyond—under one immersive, imaginative brand. I envisioned a platform that could serve as both a home and a launchpad for the many worlds I was building, whether in sound or story.
But 2020 had other plans.
Like many creatives during that time, I faced setbacks. Life got complicated. Projects were paused. And while I did pull all of my music from digital platforms in preparation for relaunching everything through my new publishing entity, the real launch of OWTT never fully took flight… until now.
A Celebration of Independence
As I publish this on Independence Day here in the U.S., it feels fitting to reflect not just on the idea of freedom, but on what it means to be an independent artist.
Building a life in music and storytelling outside of the mainstream industry means forging your own path, trusting your creative vision, and finding ways to connect directly with listeners and fellow dreamers. It’s not always easy—but it’s absolutely worth it.
This journey is a declaration of independence in its own right. And thanks to your support, it’s one that keeps moving forward.
The Journey Since Then
Despite the delay, I never stopped creating. Over the years, I continued refining my sound, exploring new musical ideas, and building out the vision of what OWTT could truly become. Here’s what’s happened since that quiet beginning:
Ambient Highways received its official vinyl release in April 2021, bringing one of my most beloved works into a physical format that fans could hold and cherish.
In 2025, the Aural Realms series was born—a longform ambient music series crafted for deep listening, stillness, and use in tabletop gaming environments. Its first release, Candles (Aural Realms Version), arrives July 11, 2025.
binarywaste, the dark electronic/rock project I launched in 2018 with guitarist Ray Clay, has been revived. We’re excited to be back creating together, and while we’re still shaping the direction of the upcoming material, stay tuned—there’s more on the way.
I’m also thrilled to announce that Jennifer Richie, my daughter, has officially joined the binarywaste lineup this year, playing rhythm guitar and bass.
I launched a new YouTube series titled “Musical Mysteries & Alchemy: Behind the Music,” offering a behind-the-scenes look at my creative process, past projects, and what’s coming next. This exclusive series is available only to Bardic Inspiration tier members on Patreon.
And perhaps most exciting for me personally: I’ve committed to releasing monthly singles going forward. These won’t just be part of the Aural Realms series—I’ll also be releasing polished and completed versions of unreleased tracks from my extensive back catalog.
Looking Ahead
Other Worlds Than These is finally becoming what I always envisioned:
A creative nexus where music and storytelling coexist, evolve, and inspire.
With a full relaunch of my music catalog under the OWTT publishing banner and new material steadily on the way, the next chapter is one of momentum, consistency, and connection. This isn’t just about getting back on track—it’s about forging entirely new ones.
Whether you’ve followed my journey from the beginning or you’re just discovering it now, thank you. The road here has been winding, but the view ahead has never been clearer.
If you’d like to be part of this journey, consider joining me on Patreon for early access, exclusives, and insight into everything I’m creating.
Let’s keep exploring these other worlds than these—together.
